Havas Edge uses tracking tools like cookies and pixels to automatically collect information about users when they click or view our clients’ advertising and digital media campaigns. Havas Edge Pixel Privacy Statement

Effective Date: July 1, 2020

This privacy statement describes how Havas Edge treats information collected via the Havas Edge pixel placed on its clients’ websites and mobile apps, as well as on third-party publisher platforms where our clients’ advertisements run.  This privacy statement does not apply to other information we collect from you, including on Havas Edge websites generally (see that policy at https://havasedgedev.wpengine.com/home/privacy-policy/).  As described further below, you may opt out of having the Havas Edge tracking tools collect information about you by clicking cookie control button above or at the bottom of this page. 

Havas Edge participates in the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”) and you may also opt out of Havas Edge pixel data collection by going to https://youradchoices.com/ to learn more and opt out of data collection from all participating companies.  We treat a DAA interest based opt out selection or a direct opt out of interest based advertising through our cookie control as an opt out of all pixel analytics or pixel data collection.  We do still need to set that opt out cookies for this to take effect as described below.

THE HAVAS EDGE PIXEL COLLECTS ANALYTICS AND USAGE INFORMATION FROM AND ABOUT YOU

When you visit our clients’ websites and mobile apps where the Havas Edge pixel is used, and when you visit a third-party publisher’s sites or apps where our clients’ advertisements run, the Havas Edge pixel collects information about your interactions with the site, app, and advertisements. For instance, the Havas Edge pixel may collect:

  • A specific ID we create so we know which client the data relates to
  • The address of the website you were on before coming to our client’s site or advertisement
  • The site that the ad or event was placed in (what site you are “viewing” from) What browser you are using, and the browser’s settings
  • Your IP address
  • Your approximate location based on your IP address (State or Territory, City and Zip)
  • Search terms you enter on the site or app
  • Whether you viewed, clicked on, or had another type of interaction with the site, app, or advertisement
  • The time when your interaction occurred
  • Information about cookie IDs and other device IDs

THE HAVAS EDGE PIXEL AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTS YOUR INFORMATION

We use the Havas Edge pixel to automatically collect the information described above, any time you visit, view, or interact with our clients’ sites, apps, or advertisements.  The Havas Edge pixel may collect this information over time and across different devices that you use.

We may also receive information from third-party vendors, which we may combine with the information our tracking tools have collected.

HAVAS EDGE USES THE INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM THE HAVAS EDGE PIXEL AS DESCRIBED BELOW

We may use this information to help us improve the Havas Edge media analysis for the client and services we provide to our clients who use our tracking tools.

We use this information to develop insights, information reports, and recommendations for our clients.

We may also use this information for other lawful purposes that we may notify you about from time to time.

Our clients have different uses for the information collected via the Havas Edge pixel.  Our clients’ uses might include purposes like conducting an analysis to determine the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and to improve their marketing.  We do not control how the clients use this information.  Please read their applicable privacy statements to learn how our clients use your information gathered through our the Havas Edge pixel.

HAVAS EDGE SHARES INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM THE HAVAS EDGE PIXEL

We may share your information with the client that engaged us to collect the information on its behalf.  Some information may be shared with the client only in aggregate form.

We will share your information with vendors that perform services on our behalf.  For example, we may share information with the companies that assist in analyzing data for us which may include matching data collected with information provided by others. 

We will share information if we think we have to in order to comply with the law or to protect ourselves.   For example, we may share information to respond to a court order or subpoena. We may share information if a government agency or investigatory body requests.

We may share information with any successor to all or part of our business.  If part of our agency is sold, we may give our user data as part of that transaction if we still maintain such data.

We may share information for other reasons that we may describe to you from time to time at the time of collection.

YOU HAVE CERTAIN CHOICES ABOUT HOW HAVAS EDGE COLLECTS AND USES YOUR INFORMATION

You can opt out of having the Havas Edge pixel collect information about you by clicking on the button below.  Please note that selections you make are device- and browser-specific.  If you delete the “opt-out” cookie set by our control panel, we will set our regular cookie until you opt out again.

You may have additional rights in relation to our clients that use the Havas Edge pixel, or in relation to the publishers where our clients’ advertisements appear.  You must contact the applicable company or entity in order to exercise those rights.  Havas Edge cannot honor your requests related to your information that is under their control.

Our Do Not Track Policy: Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you.  These features are not all uniform.  We do attempt to honor these settings for the most popular browsers but cannot guarantee we are always current with all iterations or requirements.  We recommend that you use the cookie settings control option we provide to ensure we can honor your request to not be tracked.

PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM CANADA

Havas Edge has Canadian customers, which results in the collection and processing of Canadian citizens’ personal information in the same ways as described above, including that of our contractors, vendors, client’s customers and consumers.  Havas Edge takes seriously its obligations to protect such personal information and to comply with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) and PIPEDA’s Principles of Fair Information Practices, subject to the oversight of the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Canadian individuals with questions or complaints regarding the collection, processing and transfer of their personal information in compliance with PIPEDA should first contact Havas Edge by at:

Havas Edge will promptly investigate and respond, and will attempt to resolve complaints, disputes and requests to revoke consent regarding collection, processing, transfer and disclosure of personal data in accordance with the principles contained in this Pixel Privacy Policy, and the Principles of Fair Information Practices.

Havas Edge will conduct periodic compliance audits of its relevant privacy practices to verify adherence to this Privacy Policy.

All communications to Havas Edge should include the individual’s name and contact information (such as e-mail address, phone number, or mailing address), and a detailed explanation of the request.  E-mail requests to delete, amend, or correct personal information should include “Deletion Request” or “Amendment/Correction Request,” as applicable, in the subject line of the e-mail.  Havas Edge will endeavor to respond to all reasonable requests in a timely manner and, in any case, within any time limits prescribed by applicable local law.
